How I Met My House Party

We met our house about three years ago when I was 8 months pregnant with our youngest. We weren't looking to move quite yet but when this house came up for sale it had all the things on our list so we had to get it. My husband had a big restriction it had to be within 5 minutes from his office. I was thrilled to find a 5 bedroom on a cul-de-sac with great schools. It just needed some updating and TLC.

Remodeling and being 9 months pregnant not a good combo!
Let me show you some of our transformations.

First our dining room. It was mean and green....

Now it's my style. My favorite part of the room is the window treatments. Can you believe I found them at Lowe's??
Next the formal living room turned home office.

We closed off a wall and added french doors.
The perfect place for my husband to work when he's at home.

Our lovely old blue and white laminate counters. Oh joy! Love at first sight right? NO!!
Glad to see those go with new counter tops and my favorite a slate back splash.
We started with a bright yellow glowing room.
To a nice relaxing brown.
I tackled the laundry room making it an almost enjoyable place. I'd love it if I enjoyed laundry!
Black and Bold.
Thanks for visiting! I enjoy doing home decor projects on a budget.
Always looking for new inspiration. I am currently working on my youngest daughters big girl room. We are expecting baby #4 in August. Lots to do!
Bye, Bye!

Very pretty. I am envious of your kitchen counter tops and back splash.

The dining room curtains are very warm and welcoming.

I love your story about your home. My home is literally where my heart is right now. We are getting our current house readied up to put on the market.

The updates are beautiful in your home. Swooning over the french doors!!! And the colors are lovely!

Love all your updates! How did you do that and take care of 4 kids? You've inspired me to make my laundry room prettier...after all I do spend most of my time in there ;)

I have enjoyed reading the How I Met My House series. It's fun to see how everyone got to the house that they live in.

Your home is very pretty! And I wonder how those window treatments for your kitchen were made? It looks so elegant actually. All other window treatments look well-maintained as well maybe because you regularly do some dry cleaning (Indianapolis) on them. Well in my hometown in Indianapolis, blinds and shutters stores are really great, and I often go there whenever I need some new window treatments for my home.
