Off this week!

I am taking a bloggy break this week. We've got a big week for the business. We are having a client open house. Instead of hiring a cater I am doing it all myself.

What is your favorite appetizer at open houses or holiday parties? I am trying to decide the menu.

Artichoke dip has been on my mind lately. I love a great veggie tray. Crackers with different chesses. Just a few ideas to ponder! Good luck!

Oh, and I love baked brie. So easy with crackers and it is very elegant.

Buffalo chicken dip in the mini crockpot!

2 cups or so of cooked chicken shredded
16 oz of ranch or blue cheese dressing
1/4 cup of hot sauce (or more if you like it spicy)
1 - 8oz package of cheddar cheese

Mix it all together and cook on high for 2-3 hours, or low for 4-5.

Serve with bread chunks or tostitos! :)

Love the spinach pinwheels! I think they have water chestnuts, spinach and cream cheese in them. I also like little weinnies in barbecue sauce. Good luck with the open house!

Been thinking about my favs. Yes, the tortilla rollups with cream cheese, chopped ham and chives is my all-time favorite! Also love toasted ravioli (buy the fozen bag, bread in italian breadcrumbs and fry daddy served with spaghetti sauce. We never have a family dinner that we don't have sausage balls for an appetizer. And always a layered dip of some kind. Do you have any of that dip left that you made at your house when we were there?

I'll be praying for you this week. You are such a good and supportive wife. Wish I was closer so I could help you cook.

Baked brie with a balsamic glaze - with raspberry or apricot. Baked brie is so easy, fancy and yummy! You can put grapes and apple or pear slices around the cheeses. Asparagus spears wrapped in pastry dough and baked. Cheese - all kinds - cheddar, blue, asiago, with crackers. Olives - black, green, stuffed (check Market Street or Central Market for the olive bar). Central Market also has some great dips. Hummus (either buy at Central Market, or it is super easy to make) and pita next to those olives. Oh I also made these gorgeous skewers for a baby shower that had a cheese tortellini, grape tomato and snap pea. They were so pretty, elegant and so good - I will email to you if you are interested. I also have a really good recipe for cucumber sandwiches that are soooo good. Addictive good. Let me know if you want the recipes. Good luck! You can do it!
