I got an invite for the kids to a half birthday... I thought hummmm, this is new? Then I read more and thought what a great idea.
Instead of celebrating their actual birthday in December they are celebrating in July with a pool party. What a great idea!

That's a great idea. My middle daughter's birthday is December 23 (her due date was Dec. 25!). Needless to say that is one hectic/emotional week!
I did this for my husband before he left for Iraq a couple of years ago. He was going to be gone on his real birthday (which also happens to be around Christmas time) so I threw him a surprise half-birthday! I decorated half of the room. Got clear plates and paper birthday plates, and I cut the birthday plates in half and glued them to the clear plates (so they looked like half plates), I did the same thing with cups, and my mom made a moon shaped cake so it would be "half" of a circle! It was so much fun, and he really enjoyed it! I even gave him a card that was cut in half!
I have thought of this for my December 30th son, but haven't tried one yet. Good idea!
