Coupons Anyone and a Heavenly Recipe

I have to make a confession. I stopped using coupons about 2 months ago....(gasp). Yes Frugal Jen hasn't been so frugal at the grocery store.

Honestly I just don't have the time or energy right now. I just buy whats on my list and I still am hitting my budget amount. Except for the time a couple weeks ago when I had an instant craving for Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla ice cream and waffle cones.

I stumbled across some awesome online Kraft coupons for cream cheese, Velveeta and other yummy snacks. http://www.kraftrecipes.com/Products/SuperValu.aspx

Speaking of Cream Cheese. I have to share the BEST recipe my friend Ashlee shared with me. She did better than share she made me a batch of these Heavenly Lemon Delights (that's my made up name for them).

1 C powdered sugar
6 oz cream cheese
2 tsp lemon juice2
(8 oz) cans Crescent dinner rolls
Preheat oven to 375.

In bowl combine first 3 ingredients until smooth. Separate crescent dough into triangles. Place 1 rounded teaspoon of mixture on wide end of each triangle. Roll up to opposite point. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Combine glaze ingredients until smooth and drizzle over warm rolls.

Glaze:1 C powdered sugar1 tsp margarine1 tsp lemon juice (I had to use a lot more lemon juice to make it thin enough to drizzle)

Wasteless Wednesday - Chuck E. Cheese

We ventured out to Chuck E. Cheese yesterday, yes it was crazy crowded due to the spring break crowd. Dad even met up with us. We had a great time. Little Miss loved her second trip, last time she was only 1 month old.

Typically this is not my choice for lunch but the kids LOVE it. I have many memories as a child at these types of place, so my kids filled up their brains with memories today :)

Of course we had coupons... I signed up for the email club and get coupons once a month. (Here is a treat our March coupons)Plus we got extra tokens... how... let me share
  • Bring in your child report cards and get free tokens
  • Birthdays, get tokens equal to your child's age. Kate got 12(birthday next week)!
  • Extra tokens with my meal deal.

Tuesdays Tip

With the beginning of the new year I always try to get organized. I get so many coupons for restaurants, groceries and home services. I am so bad about throwing them in my coupon drawer and I end up forgetting them when I need them. So one of my New Years Resolutions is to keep my coupons organized.

Here is my plan:

  • Utilize one of my 3 ring binders that is empty
  • Divide into restaurant types (ex. pizza, mexican) and then also home services and retail stores
  • Also put in take out menus
  • When I get a new coupon I just file it easy so I can pull out when I need them

Keep a folder in your car for: (Thank you Audrianne for this one)

  • Car Wash coupons
  • Fast Food
  • Dry Cleaning
