Things We Do For Our Kids

I am up at 12:30 am on Sunday night I guess officially Monday morning. What is so important that I am not sleeping? Well filling out the open enrollment son for my son's school. (which is not up yet and it was suposed to be up at 12:00) We are able to transfer schools within the district. Will was accepted last year to our favorite elementary school for kinder and now I have to makes sure he gets back in for 1st grade with his buddies.

Just thankful I don't have to camp out and stand in line like other districts! All in the comfort of my own home!

Later this morning I have my 2nd OB appointment. I am looking forward to hearing the baby's heartbeat. Still a little nervous, but then again that's just me!

Another random fact... Do you know what happens when you pop popcorn in the microwave with the bag facing the wrong side up? A microwave FIRE. Yes I said FIRE. We had little incident Saturday night with the popcorn bad catching on fire in the microwave. Talk about scary! Everyone is ok and the microwave survived but the house still smells like burnt popcorn. Don't try this at home!

I have an idea! You should buy my house, so you will officially be in the right school zone! Then you don't have to worry about it every year. I'll go ahead and write up the contract.

Can't wait to hear about your appointment. Mine's tomorrow.

I hate the smell of burnt popcorn! It take forevah to get rid of that smell. Good luck on your OB appointment. We have a few schools near the town I'm in that accepts registration by first come first served only and parents set up tents and camp for days (sometimes weeks) to make sure their child gets an application. Crazy.

Hey Jennifer, we had a similar popcorn incident on Saturday as well. Harrison hit the popcorn button on the microwave not realizing he had grabbed a mini bag so it burned up! The smell was terrible and our house was smokey. We opened all the doors and windows b/c when our smoke alarm goes off it calls the fire department!

Good luck at the OB. I know all will go well.

Have to share my frugal find my friend. You can make microwave popcorn yourself. Handful of kernels... place in brown paper lunch sack... roll down and microwave till popping is spaced apart. Add butter and salt... SOOO yummy!
