Summer Fun

My husband and I made it out for a date night... at the Texas Rangers game. We were not frugal we enjoyed it from an air conditioning suite. I think this was the only time I went outside.

We've had many adventures this summer. With a family of 4 I'm all about bargains. We took a bike ride to the park and grilled hot dogs. It's was a ton of fun!

Every evening we ride bikes in the cul-de-sac with our neighbor kids. Sadly we are both moving. We'll miss them!

Sweet little girl loves playing in the water in the back yard. I call it old school fun with a slip and slide and a water hose.

Vacation Bible School has been the highlight of the summer. There is nothing like hearing my children sing praises with friends. I got teary eyed each time I head "How Great Thou Are"

It's always an adventure with us!

We're making up for lost time. Remember last summer I was on bedrest.

Modeling

I enjoy looking at model homes. Back in the day (when I had 2 kids) we would go out and look at open houses. Well now I mainly look online. Here are some of my favorites. I've got an online folder with photos of my "dream rooms".

First this is my FAVORITE pool and outdoor area ever. This photo is taken from a home for sale in the area we are looking. Too bad the house is only 3 bedroom. I'd say SOLD fast. All time dream kitchen. Complete kitchen paradise. I can see the kids yelling down from the balcony... "Mom, is that cookies I smell."

My husband and I are "Trekkie's" yes I admit it. This would be our dream media room. We're in talks to add one like this to the house if we move.

I adore balcony's in the house. It's so grand and beautiful. Look how little the big kids were.

Will was thinking " Not another modeling trip"

Kate was thinking... hum can I throw my brother over??
A "mom cave" yes that's for me. What a great space for crafting and "me" time.

Can't you see a reading area by the window with a nice cup of coffee?
Could I ever fill this closet up with my clothes? Umm it would take some serious shopping. Each morning I could pose and make sure my outfit was just perfect.

Dreaming about all these wonderful things can be fun. When it comes down to it I'm perfectly happy with "simple". Although some "fabulous" wouldn't hurt.

If there was one room in your house you could make your dream what would it be?

I say kitchen.

Free Decorating Tips and Free TV

You would think we spent hours and lots of money on expensive satellite TV since our TV is the center piece of our room.

Nope, we spent $0 each month on our TV bill. We do pay $9 a month for netflix. Love it!

Netflix has cable shows.. imagine that? Last year we decided to ditch the dish.
It was my husband's idea. I agreed very reluctantly and a year later I'm loving it! Never thought I would say that.

Don't get me wrong I miss my HGTV, Discovery Channel and E!
This blog world has also shown me I can get the same decorating tips and entertainment for free.

Thrifty Thursday

Our library (North Richland Hills, TX) is the ultimate freebie fun for kids and adults. They have a soft play area that my kids love and a Starbucks for mommy. Yesterday we met some friends after school. It reminded me to post this freebie again that is easily forgotten.

Madeline and Milla in the soft play area.

Here is what we got:
  • The kids all checked out 3 books

  • We got 2 DVD's Love Bug and Transformers

  • Mommy got 2 cookbooks and made copies of the favorites from the last cookbook checkout. I am so tired of having so many different cookbooks so I am putting together my own. Right now it is a big pile of mess, papers torn out from magazines and online printing. So I am getting a HUGE 3 ring binder and sorting and organizing to make the Mommy Cookbook for myself. Look for that post.
