Little Miss Turns 2!

I am taking the next couple days off from blogging. Little Miss turns two and we are busy preparing for her party... lots of cleaning and baking. I look forward to posting my frugal party next week. Our theme is Garden Party. Praying the rain will hold off until after the party.

Here's a couple photos of my little miss.

I just love this girl so much... I also love and adore my other 2 children :) It amazes me how God made mothers to have an endless amount of love for her children. Being a mother is the greatest blessing.

Wastless Wednesday- Unpainting

I've spent the last 3 days, about 12 hours total power washing our back patio. The previous owners painted it gray. Well it looked horrible and peely and yuck. After all that time spraying there are still spots of gray paint. However, I called it quits and have decided to find a great outdoor rug to cover up the mess until we can put slate tile on the back patio.

My tip for today. Think twice about what you paint... sometimes it is not easily undone. Don't waste your time and money do it right the first time!

This is a photo of Will on the ugly grey patio before mommy's labor of love. I hope to post a photo next week after we get the yard all nice for Little Misses 2nd Birthday Party.

Tuesdays Tip- Hair Net?

Hair net's are not only for your hair. They make excellent pie covers! Pick them up super cheap at the dollar store. Even better, pick them up when you stay at hotels and have a special stash of them for free!
This post is making me think of warm apple pie with ice cream on top!
What is your favorite kind of pie?

Menu Monday & Weekend Finds

I had a great mothers day! I awoke to breakfast made by my husband and kids. What a special treat! We headed off to church, the nursery was closed for mothers day. I got a little extra time with little miss who has quite the personality. She calls the cry room at our church the "snack room".

Let me share what's for dinner at our house, then keep reading for my garage sale finds:

How about Chocolate, Diapers and Cleaning.... sounds like a disaster movie staring my little miss.

Free Chocolate- Mars chocolate company.. you know the makers of Twix, Snickers and M&M's is having a contest every Friday to win free chocolate. Go try... NOW!

More Chocolate?- Hershey's is also having an online contest. Check it out.

Free Huggies Pull-Ups- I am thinking since my youngest turns 2 next week, potty training should be starting. She really isn't a baby anymore... sniff sniff.

Free Scrubbing Bubbles Gift Pack- Join the right at home club to get this sample.

Free Mr. Clean Magic Eraser- This is a magic product. I use mine to clean scuff marks after Will had rammed his cars into the baseboards and molding.

Special : Show Us Where you Live

Kelly's Korner is hosting a linky party. Today we feature our living rooms. Take a look at Kelly's wow, that is the look I love! I want some zebra pillows like hers.

I am also realizing how much more I want to do in here... crown molding, rug, TV, entertainment center, built-in's. OK on with the tour. If you have any suggestions, please give me free advice!

Welcome to my living room, let me give you a tour. First is our huge custom leather couch. This was our first anniversary gift to each other (7years ago). Looking in to the kitchen. Read about my frugal kitchen redo.

Looking out from the kitchen. I am keeping it real, you notice the glass of wine, sippy cup and mail? Also we have our petting zoo (our pack n play) in the corner for our little 2 year old. My cross wall is very special to me. We do hope to get a flat screen TV and a new entertainment center sometime.

I absolutely love our family photo over the fireplace. Brandi from B4 photography took this incredible photo.

Lastly, this was taken when we first purchased the house. We were not big fans of the sunshine yellow. We calmed this room down with a nice neutral color.
We enjoy many relaxing days in our living room. Thank you for visiting!

Thrifty Thursday - Hair Cut Time

Who remembers my post about wanting to chop off my hair? Oh that time has come again, this time I am going to do it for real! No chickening out at the last minute.

I have an appointment today at 4:00 with my fabulous girl Kim at the Life Spa. Have I told you she looks like Barbie? I am hoping by her touching my hair I can look just like her :)

So long, farewell long hair! In memory here is a look back at my long hair.... with my oldest daughter and my straight long hair do.

With my youngest daugther with my curly long hair do.

Thanks Adrien and Trina for the inspiration and the kick in the butt to just cut my hair! I hope my hair looks just as fabulous as your short sassy hair styles.

So what does this have to do with Thrifty Thursday, spend a little extra $$ and get your hair cut by a professional you trust. It's worth the extra money. Sadly I have made the mistake several times and visited the local beauty school. Um yeah, I went in for a trim and accidentally got 6 inches cut off. They didn't make me pay the $10 for my hair cut, that was the only positive.

Wasteless Wednesday

Better late than never right? I am a little behind today on my blogging.
Yesterday as I reading my daily blogs and drinking my Diet Coke. I saw this post on Reinvented. It made me think about how much I disliked my arrangement of stuff above my kitchen cabinets. So I did a little rearranging and closet shopping and viola I like it now! I spent $0!

Let me take you on my little journey... Here is the final product!
I removed everything and started with a clean palate. I also painted over my little quote (I was so tired of it)

This is the before photo, it just didn't work for me. It had too much fake greenery and I didn't like it. Now scroll back up and see the after again, I love it!
